Venezuela: Los Roques Islands: Posada Mediterraneo

Los Roques consist of 42 coral cayes and over 300 islets situated 160km off the coast of Venezuela. They can be reached by air from Caracas. Los Roques' turquoise waters, aquamarine lagoons and beaches of floury-white sand create a popular but low-key and very laid-back beach holiday.

Around the islands are 20km of coral reef, providing fantastic diving and snorkelling opportunities...

The Italian owned Posada Mediterraneo has 6 charming rooms with style and ambience drawing inspiration from Provence. It is in the village of Gran Roque in Los Roques,

The whitewashed walls of this posada and open plan reception area give it a bright and cheerful air. The hotel works with a company next door specialised in fly fishing, so a large number of the guests are interested in the sport.

Families are welcomed ,but generally the posada is most suitable for adults.

There is a lovely and spacious roof terrace, however caution should be taken as there is no hand rail.

Our Comment

"The décor is gorgeous, obviously selected with loving care and an eye for detail. There are couches and hammocks for relaxation when you get back from your time on the beaches of nearby deserted islands", Laura Rendell-Dunn, Marketing Executive
