Come to stay at this friendly, informal ranch-style resort whether you just fancy a lazy countryside stay on a colonial estate or you want to take advantage of the huge variety of activities on offer from fishing, tennis and horse riding to photography, reading, lazing round the pool or watching films in the library. It’s a good choice for families with children: a safe environment with tons of things for the kids to do.
This renovated mid-19th century estancia is situated in Cerro Colorado within the Cuchilla Grande, a pretty mountainous area with lots of waterfalls some 3 hours by car through rolling cattle pastures from Montevideo.
The colonial homestead was declared a National Historical Monument in 1997. Its church and lovely patio decorated with Spanish majolica reminds visitors of its past. It has 38 en suite rooms including some two and three bedroom suites. There is restaurant serving local Uruguayan cuisine.
Activities and facilities include: two swimming pools, Jacuzzi, tennis and basketball courts, spa and library. Horse riding, mountain biking and hikes around the area can be organised.
