Argentina: La Pampa: Estancia La Bamba

We’re delighted to offer beautiful La Bamba once again, an estancia set within its own parkland near the gaucho town of San Antonio de Areco. La Bamba has recently re-opened, having been bought by a French family and refurbished to an extremely high standard. The crimson colonial style building is very attractive, whilst the whole property’s feel of a bygone era blends effortlessly with its contemporary décor and furnishings. The estancia has been used as a location in several period films. Buenos Aires is about two hours’ drive away.

La Bamba accommodates up to 23 guests in three buildings with simple and tasteful rooms varying in size and layout. Each room has different antique furniture, but they follow the same colour schemes of dark wood, white walls and white bedspreads.

There is an attractive swimming pool (closed during winter). Activities include walking within the grounds, bird-watching, horse-riding and carriage rides in the surrounding pampas. Folkloric shows are sometimes laid on. There is a golf course 7km away.

Our Comment

La Bamba has the feel of a grand country chateau, rather than a traditional estancia and would suit anyone looking for a luxurious retreat in the countryside.
