Argentina: Buenos Aires: Novotel

This sleek, modern hotel is located on Avenida Corrientes in the centre of Buenos Aires, close to some of the capital's best restaurants and shopping, and a few steps away from a Metro station.

The style is contemporary and minimalist in design – in fact for a chain hotel it is very distinctive. It’s cool and quirky at the same time – the staff speak excellent English and are very professional. It’s not an ultra-personalised boutique property, but that kind of all-enveloping welcome is not to everybody’s taste.

A lofty glass atrium lobby and glass staircase leads to 129 rooms with all mod cons, each with a white, black and green colour scheme. The lighting is very innovative, with bulbs in different colours, and there are all-glass showers in the bathrooms.

The verdant theme is also evident in the art deco Mediterranean-influenced restaurant with its striking green splash painting and geometric features. There is complimentary Wifi and plenty of spaces for you to sit and log on.

There is also a pleasant lobby bar and an outdoor swimming pool (with kids’ pool – there is also a playground for little ones) with dark tiles and surrounded by lush foliage, giving the pool area a natural feel.
