This quirky boutique hotel has a great location in the heart of the charming San Telmo district of Buenos Aires, known for its tango houses, cafés and Sunday antique market.
The original building, built around 1900, bears little resemblance to its former appearance and is instead a sophisticated amalgamation of styles: Middle Eastern, ultra-contemporary and classic. Quit a contrast to the colonial houses lining the narrow streets here.
There are 12 rooms, individually decorated and in a real pastiche of styles that successfully work together - ultra modern, Middle Eastern and classic. The majority of guest rooms are quite compact and have a window which faces the internal atrium
There is a good restaurant plus a wine and cava lounge offering evening wine tasting. Leisure facilities include: a heated outdoor pool, sauna and splash pool, gym and a sun terrace with views of the Jesuit church of Nuestra Señora de Belém.
It is a bit of a concept hotel with avant garde features, some of the technology takes a time to master. The location is great for those interested in this Bohemian quarter.
Our Comment
One of the best located new boutique hotels in San Telmo, a neighbourhood which exudes faded glory.
