Buenos Aires: Alvear Palace Hotel

Situated in the fashionable Recoleta district of Buenos Aires, this opulent and prestigious hotel boasts an illustrious guest list. Like them you can enjoy the luxury of its rooms, its elegant restaurant and avail yourself of a personal butler service.

The grand institution truly reflects the elegance and style of this, Latin America’s most sophisticated city. It has been around for a long time, witnessing the rise and fall of governments and the economy, and has hosted other timeless institutions, such as Mick Jagger.

The public areas have an almost over-the-top opulence, with Hollywood-style staircases and chandeliers, sumptuous furnishings and fabrics. Guest-rooms and suites are a bit less ornate, classically decorated and yet welcoming.

Each floor has its own white-gloved butler to attend to your every need and service throughout is superb, and not as stuffy as first appearances may lead you to believe.

Breakfast at the hotel is one of the most mouth-watering and varied of any on the continent. Be hungry!

Our comment

This is an exceptional hotel and a cut above the rest. The attention to detail is met with exquisite precision and class, and can be observed in almost every respect. (As I walked in 2 men were cleaning the Rolex showcase in the lobby!)
