Mexico: Puebla: La Purificadora Hotel

The hotel La Purificadora occupies a building which was originally a 19th century water-purifying factory. It has been completely redeveloped combining traditional and contemporary design, with the aid of renowned architect Ricardo Legorreta.

This boutique hotel is located in the heart of the historical centre of the colonial city of Puebla. Formerly Mexico's capital, Puebla is about 2 hours drive from Mexico City. It is a city famed for its food, and there are many  quality restaurants in the area where you can sample traditional Mexican food.

It's a modern, open air hotel with a large glass façade : in fact, glass an integral feature throughout the hotel. You enter into the bar/restaurant area and walk through to a seating area with huge open fires, purple sofas and a huge slate staircase leading up to the second floor.

There are 26 guest rooms with splendid city views, and a chic restaurant with an extensive wine cellar. There is a cocktail bar on a fourth floor terrace, alongside which is a  30m  swimming pool with a glass side - like a giant fish tank.

Our Comment

Chic, unique, funky and minimalist: not your traditional Mexican hotel, but it offers all the facilities and amenties you'd expect from a first class hotel.he comment goes here
