Hacienda Santa Rosa, in the Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico, 55km southwest of Mérida Airport, is a grand mansion on a country estate, magnificently and sympathetically restored to a luxury hotel – faithful to its historical context.
Much of the original architecture has been retained, as well as the industrial chimney and machine rooms which housed the great engines used to strip henequen (sisal) fibre. In the rooms and restaurant the emphasis is on quiet exclusivity and unobtrusive service.
We recommend you arrange to pick up a hire car in Mérida on arrival for the duration of your stay to explore these various sites. The hacienda can also arrange private escorted tours.

Within easy reach of Santa Rosa is the fishing village and resort of Celestún, at the end of a sandbar on the Gulf of Mexico coast. There's a lagoon full of flamingos which migrate here to the warm shallow waters from Nov-Apr.To the north of Santa Rosa is the ruined Mayan city of Uxmal which has a son et lumiere show in the evenings.
