Cuba: North Coast: Royal Hideaway Resort

Bridges and causeways link a necklet of undeveloped white-sand palm-dotted cayes on Cuba's north coast. The top-end all-inclusive resort the Royal Hideaway is the only hotel on Cayo Ensenachos.

The large, mock colonial-style resort is set within a large tropical grounds with fountains, overlooking a long stretch of beautiful white sand beach. It is a vast place, and guests can get about in golf carts.

Architecture is elegant with grand arches, marble floors and colonial style verandas and balconies. Its rooms are either in 2-villa buildings in the main courtyard area or Royal Suites, set further back in the grounds. The latter have butler service and an exclusive restaurant, pool and beach area.

All rooms come en suite and have cable TV/DVD and a balcony or veranda. There are 4 restaurants to choose from and numerous bars. Facilities include tennis courts, free-form swimming pools, spa, yoga, gym, Jacuzzi, theatre, nightclub and library

Our Comment

Along with the Iberostar Trinidad this the best hotel in terms of standards and facilities that we saw in Cuba. Fine if clients want an all-inclusive property of a decent standard. Service is good by Cuban standards.
