TRAVEL TO HONDURAS

Tucked into the middle of Central America, Honduras is a friendly country with an array of splendid natural attractions. While the capital Tegucigalpa is in the south of the country, most visitors focus on the mountainous jungle scenery, archaeological treasures, Caribbean coastline and tropical islands to the north and east.

The country’s beautiful national parks are outstanding and offer rewarding wildlife viewing and bird watching. You can trek within dense forest of Pico Bonito, take a boat trip and snorkel in Punta Sal or kayak through the mangroves of Punta Izopo.

Honduras also has one of the Mayan World’s most impressive sites – the ruined city of Copán – a short drive from neighbouring Guatemala.

There are some lovely palm-fringed beaches along the coast such as at Tela, as well as local Garifuna communities and a swashbuckling history of piracy. Offshore are the relaxed Bay Islands – a Mecca for diving and snorkelling, with plenty of good accommodation on the main island of Roatán.

If you would like to visit this low-key, unspoilt country for a holiday with a difference, we can arrange a tailor-made holiday for you. We also visit Honduras on our escorted group tours.
