Los Roques consist of 42 cayes and over 300 islets situated 160km off the coast of Venezuela. They can be reached by air from Caracas.

Its turquoise water, aquamarine lagoons and beaches of white coral sand make this archipelago a popular destination.

Surrounding the islands are 20km of coral reef with excellent snorkelling and diving: organised diving excursions and PADI courses are available.

On the main island of Grand Roque, the Posada Mediterraneo consists of a single storey building of 6 basic white-washed rooms.
