This lodge is situated two hours' drive from Manta airport (3hrs from Guayaquil), on the 'Ruta del Sol' (Sun Route). It is located on a high cliff on a peninsula with great views of the ocean and of Puerto Lopez, the colourful fishing village 20 minutes away.

The accommodation is in 17 rooms in individual A-shaped cabins. There is a spa, where you can unwind after excursions to observe whales, dive on the coral reef or watch birds in the cloudforest, all of which can be organised from the hotel.

There is also a viewing platform with panoramas over the forest and coastline. Dining is in an atmospheric candle-lit, open air restaurant.

"Relatively exclusive by dint of its isolated position. In our view, this is the best hotel in an undeveloped area of Ecuador that receives few visitors."
