San José, the second largest of the Pearl Islands in the Gulf of Panama, is 90km and a 20 minute flight from Panama City. Here, humpback whales can often be seen on their migratory route.
The island has always been uninhabited and hunting has been kept to a minimum, so the wildlife is undisturbed and prolific. Sea turtles nest on the islands' beautiful beaches.
The lodge is just steps away from the beach. Twelve comfortable cabins with wide screened windows have views of the Ocean or virgin forest.
Our comment
"The lodge is so accessible from Panama City that it would be possible to visit for just one night. However, we feel that such a unique location is worth visiting for a minimum of three nights." |
