50km from Viñales on the north coast of Cuba's most westerly province lies the islet of Cayo Levisa. Only 3km wide, it is heavily wooded and still unspoilt.
There is excellent diving, (dive courses are available), and snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters, and there are surfboards and catamarans to rent.
There is little else to do but relax in the coconut groves and on the superb coral beaches.
The quiet and unassuming hotel has 40 large, air-conditioned cabins with private facilities and cable TV. There is a restaurant and barbecue.
Our comment
"If you are short of time or the hotel is fully booked then Cayo Levisa makes an excellent day trip from Viñales." |
