14 days from £3,491

We’ve combined the highlights of Costa Rica’s luxuriant interior with a cruise along the coast to Nicaragua on an evocative clipper sail boat, the  Star Flyer. From volcanoes to cool cloud forest and wild, isolated coast to one of Central America’s oldest colonial cities, this trip captures the diversity of these two fascinating countries. Visit one of the world’s most active volcanoes at Arenal, see sloth and the resplendent quetzal in Monteverde. You’ll also have a chance to white water raft or get a bird’s eye view of the jungle canopy from an aerial tram.

Owing to many clients' preference for flexibility, and the variation in flight price according to season and availability, the price quoted excludes the cost of international flights, which we will happily arrange for you. Flights to Latin America can be daytime or overnight, while the return flight is always overnight, so you will need to add at least one day to arrive at the total length of your holiday.

Our Comment

The mast, sails and rigging are all on this deck so you have to be aware of your surroundings and bear in mind you are on a large sailing vessel and not a cruise liner.  One of the most spectacular, if a little bit scary, experiences you can enjoy on the boat is to climb out along the bowsprit and get into the nets on the stern.
