5 days as part of a tailor-made holiday to PeruThis 5-day fully-supported camping trek takes you through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Cordillera Blanca, Peru's premier hiking region, a great inclusion in a holiday to Peru. The views of the snow-capped peaks and the dazzling turquoise glacial lakes are stunning. With much of the trekking at altitudes of over 3,000m, a good level of fitnes is essential. There is approximately 12km of hiking per day lasting 5-7 hours. Camp at scenic high altitude locations, before driving back to Huaraz on Day 5. Suggested Holiday ItineraryDay 1: Drive from Huaraz to Cashapampa at 2,900m. Hike up the Santa Cruz gorge. Camp beside the Santa Cruz River.
Day 2: On today's hike there are glaciated peaks on both sides. Camp at the foot of Mount Taulliraju.
Day 3: The trail ascends towards Punta Union 4,750m. Descend to the Tuctu Valley; camp.
Day 4: Descend to Colcabamba. Ascend to the camp in the small village of Vaqueira (3,700m).

There are few places in the world where you can get close to mountains of this size so easily, making this trek a thrilling experience for anyone with a good level of fitness and acclimatisation.
