Suggested Holiday ItineraryThere's a 5-hour motorised canoe trip up the Tambopata River to Refugio Amazonas. There is a short walk from the riverbank to the lodge. This 24-roomed lodge is located in a private reserve in the Tambopata National Reserve Buffer Zone, convenient for visits to the Tambopata Research Centre.
Day 1: Motorised canoe trip up the Tambopata River to Refugio Amazonas.
Day 2: Hike to Schavacayoc oxbow lake. By river to the Tambopata Research Centre. Hikes and excursions at the lodge.
Day 3: Visit the macaw clay lick and hike the Ocelot Trail.
Day 4: At dawn, revisit to the macaw clay lick. Return to Refugio Amazonas. Overnight.
