Peru
Culinary tour of Lima
Peruvian cuisine is known throughout South America for its ability to incorporate the influences from different times and cultures. The result is a culinary palette that has a depth of taste and colour that is unrivalled in all of the Americas.
The day starts with a tour of a popular food market with it's diverse variety of fish and vegetables, here you’ll have a chance to taste some of the local fruits such as lucuma, chirimoya and pacay.
After seeing how ceviche is made at one of the city’s best sea food restaurants there’s a guided tour of a Pisco tavern where again you’ll have the opportunity to see how to make cocktails including the most popular of all; the Pisco Sour.
A buffet lunch of traditional Peruvian foods is served at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to a boutique where you can purchase recipe books and souvenirs and enjoy a cup of coca tea - the sacred herb of the Incas. |
