Puebla and Tlaxcala

A short but impressive drive leads up to Puebla (where you are based for 3 nights), one of Mexico’s most dynamic cities with a remarkable colonial core: the cathedral, convent and grandiose mansions line its busy streets. Famed for its ceramics and historic battles, it is a conservative place set in striking mountainous countryside. Your guided half-day excursion will include a city tour here, heading out to Tlaxcala, a delicately pretty town of rosy hues where an alliance with Spain during the War of Independence left it side-tracked and thereby unspoilt.
