Drive to Chichén Itzá, one of the largest of the Mayan sites, with evidence of several periods of occupation. The first of its pyramids was the monumental El Castillo, thought to be a Mayan calendar. Following a tour of the ruins stay overnight at a hotel nearby. Continue to the beach resort of Cancún (2 nights) from where there will be a full day excursion along the coast, visiting Xel-ha, and Tulúm - the most beautifully situated of the Mayan temples overlooking the limpid aqua-marine waters of the Caribbean. Return to Cancún airport.
