Luxury cruise in the Galápagos Islands

La Pinta is a very smart 63m motor yacht with 24 outside cabins accommoding 48 passengers. It offers week-long cruises around the Galápagos islands. It is styled as an expedition yacht, offering a very special wildlife experience to its guests: there are four naturalists guides on board, and excursion groups are never larger than 16 guests. Guest cabin are configured on the upper deck, each with a large panoramic window so that guests can connect with the islands at all times. There are connecting cabins for families.

The boat deck has a spacious lounge with large connecting windows on three sides, so that you have a bird's eye, panoramic views of the changing scenery outside. The library has deep, comfy armchairs and free tea and coffee. There are 3 computers offering internet access with a time card, a modern gym, and a Jacuzzi on the sun deck.

The dining room (breakfast and lunch are buffets, dinner is a la carte -vegetarian options available) is  on the main deck, but in good weather meals may be offered al fresco on the covered sun deck.

Free snorkelling equipment - masks and flippers - are available, and there are wetsuits for hire. For guests who prefer to watch the underwater theatre from above sea level, the yacht provides a glass bottomed boat. Kayaks are also available, free of charge, for use after returning from excursions on the islands.

In line with La Pinta's expeditionary ethos, there is no typical  "cruise entertainment" offered as such but the star-gazing opportunities have proved very popular in the evenings.

Cruise Itinerary

Recent changes to Galápagos National Park guidelines mean that cruise itineraries now vary greatly from departure to departure. The islands visited on each holiday will be determined by your departure date and the length of the cruise, so we no longer feature detailed itineraries on our Galápagos holiday cruise pages. Our travel consultants can provide you with detailed information about cruise itineraries that apply to your preferred dates, or see our Galapagos FAQ page for more information.

Our Comment

"Successfully combines all the advantages of a larger expeditionary vessel - roomy cabins, comfy public areas, and a real feeling of space - with genuinely personal and personable service.  Varied itinerary and excellent naturalist guides meant we saw all the wildlife we’d been hoping for, and more, even down to the rare sighting  of a pod of Bryde’s whales. Unforgettable!"
