The Motmot tour -  Tortuguero, Monteverde and Panama City Regular departures from the UK 13 days, 11 nights San José 1 night, Tortuguero 2n, Monteverde 2n, San José 1n, Panama City 2n, Boca Grande 3n. Itinerary Day 1 Depart from the UK for San José arriving the same evening. Days 2&3 By road and boat upriver to rustic Tortuga Lodge in Tortuguero National Park. Relax or hike along private nature trails: you will probably spot more wildlife here than at any similar destination in the Americas. Explore by boat the salt water canals that border the park, accompanied by an English-speaking naturalist guide. Days 4&5 Fly to San José and continue by track, climbing through the Tilaran mountain range, to Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Optional  hiking, bird-watching, and horse-riding through the lush and misty protected area. Day 6 Return by road to San José for the night. Day 7 Fly to Panama City. Day 8 Full-day transit of the Panama Canal through several awesomely-engineered locks (if only a partial transit is operating, the cost will be reduced. Transits operate on alternate Saturdays only.) Days 9-11 Fly to Boca Grande in the undeveloped archipelago of Bocas del Toro and unwind at a friendly waterfront inn within strolling distance ofbare-foot beach bars. Day 12 Return to Panama City for flight to the UK, arriving day 13.
