Daily from San José 7 days, 6 nights This action-packed week gives you the chance to explore some of Costa Rica’s highlights under your own steam. Hiking, biking and rafting give you an intimate perspective of this country’s exquisite natural features. Following a night in the capital, drive to the intermittently active Irazú Volcano, where you can climb to the summit crater with its unique, hardy vegetation and views of both oceans. Continue by road to Turrialba for 3 nights. You will have a full day mountain biking in this fertile region of rain and cloud forest, and another white-water rafting through the densely wooded canyon carved by the river Pacuaré, with a picnic lunch. Camp on the riverbank and continue next day, experiencing the excitement of the rapids and; weather permitting,  side hikes into the narrow creeks.  Return by road to San José.
