The Torres del Paine circuit around the famous craggy mountains is one of the world's classic trekking routes, covering a distance of approximately 100 kms. The trip suits those physically fit who enjoy camping and hiking in unspoiled wilderness. The trek is done in an anti-clockwise direction and aims to avoid walking against the strong wind currents, saving the more strenuous hiking streches until later. During summer (Dec-Mar) there are 18 hours of daylight which give the explorers plenty of time for the journey. Suggested Holiday ItineraryDay 1: Transfer to Puerto Natales continue to Torres del Paine National Park. Overnight at the Eco Camp.
Day 2: Trek to Lake Dickson, Continue along the eastern bank of the Rio Paine. Camp.
Day 3: Walk beside Los Perros River to Laguna Los Perros. Camp.
Day 4: Reach the highest point of the circuit at 1,300m, with a view of Glacier Grey. Camp.
Day 5: Morning at leisure. Optional half day hike on the Grey Glacier. The trek continues down alongside Grey Glacier to the point where it calves into Lake Grey. Camp at Lake Pehoe.
Day 6: Trek to Rio Frances. Follow the river upstream until it reaches Camp Cuernos.
Day 7: Trek through the Cuernos trail beside Lake Nordenskjold. The trek ends back at Las Torres Eco-Camp.
Day 8: Hike to the foot of the Torres del Paine. Overnight at Las Torres Eco-Camp.
