Itinerary
Day 1 Depart from the UK.
Day 2 Arrive Santiago, rest of the day at leisure.
Day 3 Half day visit to the sunlit vineyards and cellars of Concha y Toro winery (not Sundays).
Days 4-7 Fly north to Calama (2hrs) and continue by road (shared vehicle) to San Pedro de Atacama. Enjoy the varied scenery: snow-capped volcanoes, shimmering salt pans, lunar landscapes and geysers. Fly Santiago (2hrs), overnight.
Day 8 Fly south to Puerto Montt in the lake district and continue by road to Puerto Varas in the shadow of Volcán Osorno.
Day 9 At leisure in this town on the shores of Lake Llanquihue, half-day optional excursion to Petrohué Falls.
Day 10 Full day trip to the deeply traditional rural island of Chiloé.
Day 11 Flight to Punta Arenas (140 mins), on the Straits of Magellan.
Day 12-14 Drive (shared vehicle) to Torres del Paine National Park. Excursions to beauty spots among the mountain peaks, lakes and glaciers of this windswept landscape.
Day 15 Drive to Punta Arenas and fly to Santiago. Overnight.
Day 16 Fly to the UK, arriving day 17.
