12 days from £6,392 for a family of 4This great adventure family holiday encompasses stays in Chilean and Argentine Patagonia, bookended with nights in the two cosmopolitan capitals, Santiago and Buenos Aires. You can easily extend your stay by adding trips to the Iguazú Falls or the Atacama Desert
In the Torres del Paine National Park you’ll be camping, which should thrill the youngsters, but parents and grandparents can be reassured that this is not boy-scout-style wading-through-mud – you’ll be staying in large en-suite domes, heated by wood stove, with proper beds. Over the border in Argentina, the friendly El Galpón del Glaciar, once a traditional Patagonian ranch is now a cosy lodge which treats its guests to lovely views over Lago Argentino. Here you can watch sheep-shearing and corralling demonstrations, hike or ride. Suggested Holiday ItineraryDay 1: Transfer to hotel Santiago. Guided city tour.

Owing to many clients' preference for flexibility, and the variation in flight price according to season and availability, the price quoted excludes the cost of international flights, which we will happily arrange for you. Flights to Latin America can be daytime or overnight, while the return flight is always overnight, so you will need to add at least one day to arrive at the total length of your holiday. If your children weren't lovers of the outdoors before, surely they will be after this holiday in some of the most dramatic and wild scenery in the world. Explore the mountains, glaciers and lagoons during the day but return to your comfortable dome in the evening - it's warm and safe, but sufficiently like real camping to wow the youngsters.
