Hosteria Lago Grey is a single-storey, wooden lodge situated in the western part of the park, overlooking Lago Grey. The 20 chalet-style rooms linked by interconnecting walkways, are bright and simple, with en suite bathrooms. The lodge is well situated for walking and has breathtaking views of the lake and mountains, particularly impressive from its restaurant and bar.
Itinerary
Day 1 - The transfer from Punta Arenas, via Puerto Natales, to lakeside Hosteria Lago Grey is a shared service which takes around 8-9 hours, allowing for refreshment breaks and stops at points of interest en route. The 8.30am departure from Punta Arenas stops in Puerto Natales before continuing on to Hosteria Lago Grey, where you arrive in the evening. The 1635 departure (Oct-Mar) from Punta Arenas airport visits the penguin rookery at Seno Otway (which means that you arrive well after midnight). The lakeside lodge is in the western part of the park, and has 20 chalet-style rooms and a restaurant with great views. For those wanting to get a closer view of the glacier, a boat trip by catamaran is available (not incl.), which will take you to within a few metres.
Day 2-3 - Explore the park with morning and afternoon excursions each day. Some of the activities that might be on offer include: a full day hike to the twin peaks of Las Torres; half day exursion to Salto Grande, Amarga Lagoon and Lakes Nordenskjold & Pehoe; and three-hour light hikes to Los Salmones creek on the Pingo River and Grey River Canyon.
