Your variety-packed holiday takes you from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean, visiting some of the most impressive sights of three of the continent’s grandest countries, taking the most stunning and dramatic route through the Andean wall of snow-draped peaks. We've included 3 of the most dynamic cities, contrasting with some of the most tranquil landscapes.
Suggested holiday itinerary (flexible)
Day 1 Fly from the UK to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, arriving same evening, 3 nights based in Copacabana.
Day 2 Half-day excursion by jeep to Corcovado mountain, mantled in tropical vegetation and topped by the famous statue of Christ. Also visit the bohemian quarter in colonial
Santa Teresa district.
Day 3 At leisure―take an optional schooner trip or visit the ropical trees, flowers and shrubs of the renowned botanical gardens.
Day 4 Fly to Foz do Iguaçu, visit the Brazilian side of Iguaçú Falls and drive over the border into Argentina. 2 nights at hilltop Hotel Panoramic, recently refurbished with glorious views over the rainforest.
Day 5. Excursion to the walkways above, beneath and even
behind the Falls.
Day 6 Fly to Buenos Aires, belle époque capital of Argentina, accommodation in the fashionable Recoleta district.
Days 7,8 Tour of the city’s colonial and commercial centre and the Italian immigrant quarter La Boca. Evening tango show with dinner.
Days 9-10 Fly to Bariloche in the lake district. Accommodation at Hotel La Cascada on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi. Excursion to see some of the mountainous countryside in this exquisite region, with its sapphire lakes and ancient forests.
Day 11 Cross the Andes by boat and road, following the range’s most spectacular pass, where ice-capped volcanoes fall towards the forest-fringed lake-shores. Arrive in Chile at the lively resort of Puerto Varas in the shadow of Mount Osorno.
Day 12 Excursion along lake Llanquihue to Bavarian-influenced Frutillar, or optional day trip to the rural serenity of deeply traditional Chiloé Island
Day 13 Fly to Santiago, the cosmopolitan capital of Chile. Accommodation in one of the smart residential districts, Las Condes or Providencia.
Day 14 Excursion to the nearby Maipo Valley, where some of Chile’s most prestigious wine is produced. Visit two vineyards, with an opportunity to sample their wares.
Day 15 Transfer to Santiago airport and fly to the UK, arriving day 16 |  Iguaçú Falls
