Highlights of Bolivia - Tarabuco market, Potosí silver mines, colonial Sucre and the altiplano

Day 1 Arrive La Paz and transfer to hotel.
Day 2 Fly to Sucre, whitewashed colonial city, legislative capital of Bolivia.
Day 3 2 hour drive through tiny villages of rural Bolivia to Tarabuco market, where the inhabitants still wear the traditional poncho and headdress. Return to Sucre.

Day 4 Half day tour of the elegant city of Sucre.
Day 5 3 hour drive through the multicoloured canyons of the eastern Andes, to the erstwhile silver mining city of Potosí, during colonial times the richest city on earth. Afternoon visit to the Imperial Mint.
Day 6 Morning visit to co-operative tin mine; afternoon at leisure.
Day 7 Back to Sucre by road. Fly to La Paz..
Day 8 Return to airport.
