Fly La Paz - Sucre, arriving mid-afternoon. Overnight.
here is a 4 hour drive through the rolling hills of rural Bolivia to the Hacienda La Candelaria, in the small farming settlement of the same name. The dilapidated adobe-brick house gives an authentic view of life in a primitive rural community, with limited electricity and no running water.
It is short dusty drive to Tarabuco; a market is held in the central square . The inhabitants still wear their traditional ponchos and headdress, and this is considered by many to be the most photogenic market in South America. Return to Sucre in the afternoon, and fly back to La Paz next day. |
