Highlights of Bolivia with Chile

This invigorating holiday highlights the remote wilderness of southern Bolivia and the Atacama desert over the border in Chile, visiting the Uyuni salt flats  as well as taking you to the kinder climates of Bolivia in the sub-tropical Yungas and sunny Sucre, a colonial masterpiece.  Many roads through this rugged terrain remain unpaved but a slower pace of travel only enhances a visit to this adventurous destination.

Suggested Holiday Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive La Paz. At leisure to acclimatise. Stay 2 nights
Day 2: Excursion to pre-Inca Tiwanaku ruins on the altiplano.
Day 3: Drive out of La Paz drop 3,000m in 65km to subtropical Coroico for 1 night.
Day 4: Return to La Paz.
Day 5: Fly to Sucre for 2 nights.
Day 6: At leisure in Sucre.
Day 7: Drive to countryside Hacienda La Candelaria.
Day 8: Visit the market at Tarabuco, drive to Potosí on the altiplano.
Day 9: Visit Casa de la Moneda and the drift mines of Cerro Rico.
Day 10: Drive to Uyuni over a 5,000m pass. Overnight in a salt hotel.
Day 11: Expedition to the immense Uyuni salt pan.Village overnight. 
Day 12: Cross salt flats below Ollagüe volcano Overnight Villa Mar.
Day 13: Drive to Laguna Colorada via Laguna Verde. Cross into Chile's Atacama Desert. Overnight in San Pedro de Atacama.
Day 14
: Drive to Calama, fly to Santiago de Chile (2hrs). Overnight.
Day 15: Transfer to the airport.

Owing to many clients' preference for flexibility, and the variation in flight price according to season and availability, the price quoted excludes the cost of international flights, which we will happily arrange for you. Flights to Latin America can be daytime or overnight, while the return flight is always overnight, so you will need to add at least one day to arrive at the total length of your holiday.
