La Paz to Uyuni in Bolivia and on to San Pedro de Atacama in Chile

4 days, 3 nights
Full day journey south to the Uyuni Salt flats across the altiplano, the horizons sometimes defined by the snow-strewn slopes of the Andean cordillera,visiting tiny isolated churches and villages. Overnight in an incredible hotel constructed from salt.
Next day continue across the salt desert to San Pedro de Quemez. Following a night here, cross a pass at 4200m with views of the Ollague volcano and lagoons brimming with pink flamingos: on to the Siloli desert, a bizarre landscape of tortured winderoded rocks.
On the last day, drive to fiery Laguna Colorada, continue to view steaming geysers and warm up in the hot springs of Polques. 30km further on is Laguna Verde, an aquamarine lake at the foot of the Licancabur volcano. Cross into Chile,descending for 35km to reach the desert town of San Pedro de Atacama.
