This fascinating, adventurous and varied trip combines the colourful history and culture of Guatemala with the rainforest and Caribbean beaches of neighbouring Belize. In Guatemala, discover the lovely colonial city of Antigua and explore the extraordinary Mayan temples at Tikal, deep in the Petén jungle. Get active in the jungle at Macal River Jungle Camp in Belize where you can canoe, bike, hike forest trails and seek out Mayan ruins. Then kick back and relax on the palm-fringed Caribbean coast near Placencia. Travelling with children in Central America is made easier becuase of thew short distances to be travelled between highlights. The people of both countries love children..
Day 1: Arrive Guatemala City and continue to Antigua. 2 nights.
Owing to many clients' preference for flexibility, and the variation in flight price according to season and availability, the price quoted excludes the cost of international flights, which we will happily arrange for you. Flights to Latin America can be daytime or overnight, while the return flight is always overnight, so you will need to add at least one day to arrive at the total length of your holiday.

Day 3: Drive/fly to Flores, stay 2 nights at Lake Petén Itzá.
Day 4: Guided tour of Tikal Mayan ruins.
Day 5: Drive into Belize; 3 nights on Chaa Creek Reserve.
