Argentina Calchaquíes Valleys wine route

The Calchaquíes Valleys loop is one of Argentina’s finest road trips with frequent, dramatic changes in scenery. This is excellent walking, cycling and riding country, with good food and world-class wines.
This trip allows you to savour the wines of the region, with an overnight stay in wine-producing Cafayate, and 2 nights at the prestigious colonial-style Estancia Colomé, where vines of French Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon are grown and a variety of leisure facilities (biking, tennis, horse-riding, swimming) are available. The final night is spent at the remote 17th century village of Cachí, with time to visit the church and archaeological museum before returning to Salta via the blood-red Obispo Gorge.
