Holiday itinerary
Day 1 Daytime flight to Rio.
Days 2,3 Visit Sugarloaf Mountain and the Christ Redeemer statue.
Day 4 Travel down the 'Green Coast' to Paratí, a cobbled historic town.
Day 5 Boat trip to nearby islands and tour of the bay.
Day 6 Full day travel to Bonito, by bus and plane.
Day 7 Enjoy the lakes, caves and streams of Bonito.
Day 8 Bus to the heart of the Pantanal.
Days 9, 10 Explore the Pantanal, the wetlands and abundant wildlife.
Days 11, 12 Fly to Iguaçú and visit the Brazilian and Argentinian side of the Falls.
Day 13 Return to Rio by air.
Day 14 Depart, arriving UK day 15.
Trip profile
Transport: 3 flights (longest 4 hrs); 4 road journeys (longest 5-6hrs).
Accommodation: Good quality medium class hotels and pousadas. Traditional pousada (lodge) in the Pantanal with private shower, and air conditioning or ceiling ventilator.
Meals: Breakfast daily, lunch day 7, full board at the Pantanal lodge.
Included excursions: Sugar Loaf Mountain, Rio; boat trip, Paratí; outdoor activities, Bonito; full programme of excursions in the Pantanal; Iguaçu Falls.
