One of the most comprehensive group tours to southern Mexico and Guatemala for 2013, this holiday provides an overland adventure whilst staying in comfortable hotels. Starting in the megapolis of Mexico City continue to Chiapas, Lake Atitlan and Antigua, before flying to the Mayan ruins of Tikal on this 2 week escorted tour of Mexico and Guatemala.

Holiday itinerary

UK clients depart arriving Mexico City the same day.
Day 1 Sat. Overnight at a hotel in the capital.
Day 2 City tour including the world famous Museum of Anthropology.
Day 3 Visit Teotihuacán, a vast city of ancient pyramids.
Day 4 Travel by bus to the colonial town and gastronomic centre of Oaxaca.
Day 5 Walking tour of the town, optional visit to nearby Mayan site of Monte Albán.
Day 6 Fly and drive to San Cristobál de las Casas, a colourful town in the heart of Chiapas.
Day 7 Visit nearby Mayan villages, steeped in tradition and local customs.
Day 8 Travel by bus into Guatemala to Lake Atitlán.
Day 9 Excursion to Chichicastenango, Central America's most famous market town.
Day 10 Explore the lakeside villages, or just relax with the stunning backdrop of volcanoes.
Day 11 Travel by bus to Antigua, a lively and welcoming colonial town.
Day 12 Explore the surrounding area.
Day 13 Fly from Guatemala City to the Mayan site of Tikal, visit the awe inspiring ruins set in the Petén rainforest.
Day 14 Return to Antigua by air.
Day 15 Depart on international flight or extension.
UK clients arrive home the following day, Sun.

Accommodation: A variety of hotels and guest houses, several with authentic character.
