Holiday Itinerary

Day 1 Fly to Bogotá, arriving same evening.
Day 2 Explore the city and visit the Gold museum.
Day 3 Optional excursion to Zipaquira salt cathedral and Guatavita Lagoon.
Day 4 Fly to Neiva and continue by road to San Agustin.
Day 5 Full day exploration of the archaelogical park and famous statues.
Day 6 Optional jeep tour to Magdalena gorge.
Days 7-9 Fly to Pereira and onto your coffee farm, explore the lush valleys of the coffee region.
Day 10 Fly to Cartagena, a colonial gem on the Caribbean coast.
Days 11-12 Explore the city and optional excursion to the Rosario Islands' lovely beaches and superb snorkelling.
Day 13 Drive and boat to the tranquil island village of Mompós.
Day 14 Boat ride along the River Magdalena.
Day 15 Drive to the riverside town of Aracataca birthplace of Gabriel García Marquez.
Days 16,17 By road to Tayrona National Park. Enjoy relaxing and exploring the beaches and forests of the park.
Day 18 Fly to UK, via Bogotá arriving day 19.

Transport: 4 flights (longest 3.5 hrs); 7 road journeys (longest 8 hours) and 1 boat journey (2 hours).
Accommodation: Simple hotels and guest-houses with private bathroom; farm accommodation in coffee country, cabins in Tayrona with shared bathroom.
