Holiday itinerary
Day 1 Fly to Lima.
Day 2 Fly to Cusco, explore the capital of the Incas.
Day 3 Guided tour of Cusco and nearby ruins.
Day 4 Excursion to the Sacred Valley visiting small indigenous villages and Inca ruins. We spend the night in the Valley.
Day 5 Train journey to Machu Picchu to enjoy a guided tour of the ruins.
Day 6 Optional revisit to the site before returning to Cusco by train.
Day 7 Travel across the altiplano to Lake Titicaca.
Day 8 Boat trip to the floating reed Uros Islands, and visit the impressive pre-Inca funeral towers at Sillustani.
Day 9 Fly to Lima, explore the colonial centre or visit one of the excellent museums.
Day 10 Fly to Quito and a take a city tour.
Day 11-14 Fly to the Galápagos Islands, cruise through the archipelago, option to extend to 7 night cruise.
Day 15 Return to Guayaquil on the Ecuadorian mainland.
Day 16 Depart, arriving UK day 17.

Transport: 5 flights (longest 2½); 2 train journeys (3 hrs); 1 road journey 8hrs including stops.
Accommodation: Tourist class superior and tourist class hotles; comfortable motor yacht with private facilities and air conditioning.
