Holiday itinerary
Day 1 Fly to Lima.
Day 2 Fly to Cusco, explore the capital of the Incas.
Day 3 Guided tour of Cusco and nearby ruins.
Day 4 Excursion to the Sacred Valley visiting small indigenous villages and Inca ruins. We spend the night in the Valley.
Day 5 Train journey to Machu Picchu to enjoy a guided tour of the ruins.
Day 6 Optional revisit to the site before returning to Cusco by train.
Day 7 Travel in comfort on board a luxury train to Lake Titicaca.
Day 8 Boat trip to the floating reed Uros Islands, and visit the impressive pre-Inca funeral towers at Sillustani.
Day 9 Fly to Lima, explore the colonial centre or visit one of the excellent museums.
Day 10 Fly to Quito and a take a city tour.
Day 11-14 Fly to the Galápagos Islands, cruise through the archipelago.
Day 15 Return to Quito
Day 16 Depart, arriving UK day 17.

Transport: 5 flights: 2 internal flights in Peru (1 hr each), flight Lima-Quito (2 hrs); flights to and from Galápagos (3½ hrs each); 3 train journeys (longest 10 hrs).
Accommodation: Good quality medium class hotels with character.
Meals: Breakfast daily; lunch days 4, 7; full board day 5 and on cruise 11-14.
Guides: Our tour leader will accompany you in Peru. Local guides in Quito and a naturalist specialist in the Galápagos.
