A recent Sunday Times article - "How a typo could ruin your holiday" highlights a growing problem for those that book their holidays online.

In summary: The passenger makes a typing error while providing his name for the booking.

The tour operator through which the booking was made takes the approach is that it was the passenger’s own error, and therefore his responsibility to resolve it with the airline.

Meanwhile, the airline’s stance is that the booking was made through an agent, and it’s therefore the agent’s problem.

Result: everybody washes their hands of the passenger, who is left facing the prospect of losing both his money and his flights.

What we would have done differently.

We will always address the problem with the airline/s ourselves. If the usual channels don’t yield a solution, we will approach our sales contacts to resolve the problem.  It is all about who you know, and we know all the right people and procedures, and we will always go out of our way to help our clients, something that most booking engines or internet companies will not do.
