When to go: The ideal time to visit the Caribbean is from late November to early June.
How to get there: There are direct flights from the UK to Cancún and Havana. For the rest of the region, flights from the UK generally connect in Spain.
Good combinations: If visiting the Caribbean beaches of Mexico or Central America, don’t miss the
Mayan and Aztec ruins and the colourful market towns. Elegant colonial cities, mystical lakes or Costa Rican cloud-forest are further attractions. Cuba boasts a number of cultural and natural attractions to add depth to a beach holiday. In Colombia, be sure to include a stay in Cartagena, and in Venezuela, consider a trip to
Angel Falls alongside Caribbean relaxation.
Length of stay: For a fly-and-flop break, a week should be long enough to unwind, but if you want to visit some of the surrounding attractions we recommend at least a 2-week holiday.
