Laura Rendell-Dunn: Press and Marketing Executive
With a Brazilian mother and an Anglo-Peruvian husband, trilingual Laura will admit that she is rather biased when it comes to her favourite regions of Latin America. Her top picks are the Peruvian Andes, Fernando de Noronha in northeast Brazil and Rio, where her mother grew up beside Ipanema Beach – insisting to this day that she was the inspiration for the Bossa Nova classic, The Girl from Ipanema! Laura is a self-confessed beach bum with a comprehensive knowledge of the length and breadth of Brazil’s coastline as well as plenty of travel experience from her days as a tour leader for Journey Latin America. Having joined the company in 2001, she can now be found in the Marketing Department, where she works with the press and organises events. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, with specialities including the Peruvian dishes ceviche and lomo saltado, and loves bossa nova, samba and the Gotan Project’s blend of tango and electronica. Top of Laura’s travel wish list is Antarctica, but she has been fortunate enough to visit most of Latin America, counting snorkling with sharks and turtles in Fernando de Noronha, visiting the Galápagos and discovering some of Brazil’s most beautiful beaches before the tourist mainstream amongst the highlights of her adventures so far.
