Julia is the latest addition to the Marketing Department but no newcomer to Latin America, having been hooked at a young age on her first trip to visit family in Peru when she was three. Over the years she was drawn back time and time again and had no qualms in choosing Latin American Studies as a degree subject at the University of Manchester. After living in Brazil and Mexico and backpacking around South and Central America for a year, Julia would say that her favourite countries are Brazil, Colombia and Cuba, although Peru – where her uncle works as an actor in melodramatic telenovelas (soap operas) – still holds a special place in her heart. Julia loves Brazilian food, especially the Bahian speciality moqueca, and never turns down a caipirinha. She also loves photography, Latin music and fancy dress, and is obsessed with sushi.
